Rick Perry also says: That neck nuzzle was totally a kiss.

As do all the Glee writers.

  9. "The largest transfer of wealth from the public to private sector is about to begin. The federal government will be bulk-selling the massive portfolio of foreclosed homes now owned by HUD, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to private investors — vulture funds."

Congress Giving Millions of Foreclosed Homes To Wall Street Slumlords

This should be kind of big news on the outrage front, shouldn’t it?

That’s the problem with the high school and college debate programs. These smart kids learn how to process information, but few actually ever learn how to acquire and practically use real knowledge. Memorizing is not the same as understanding.
The problem is prevalent in society. The news operates this way. They just say random things that are happening, like gossiping neighbors. They don’t break down the cause-and-effect relationships, the different perspectives, who benefits, etc.We are being conditioned to be this way. It starts at school. Our kids are being taught to memorize for standardized tests.
I honestly think this is the result if America’s brand of capitalism. Everything is for short-term benefit, and no true benefit. This started with the corporations. All companies want to make more money today then they did on the same day one year ago. They need to make more profit this quarter and fiscal year than the last of the two. It doesn’t matter if the workforce is laid-off, retirement plans are eliminated, jobs outsourced, etc. It’s a shortsighted view. As long as the big wigs make profits, get big bonuses, show good “numbers,” and keep their jobs - all is good.
Debate teams make their students memorize stuff because they have no time to allow them to learn on their own and develop their own paradigm. They to win now, so they can keep their budget in tact. News companies need to be sensationalistic and dumbed-down to keep the ratings up. They don’t want to educate and inform the public, they just want to keep them watching. Schools don’t want to be seen as “failing,” so they focus on the standardized tests.
In the short-term, all entities survive, but what are the long-terms impacts of short-term thinking? Look at society as it is now… there’s the answer. We are in the Information Age, but we are starving for knowledge. Taking in information is not the same as knowledge. Just as not all calories we ingest are healthy - some are sugar and fat, while others are protein.
